A decade after Glorious Heights introduced Australia to one of its most distinctive voices, Montaigne is heading back on the road to celebrate the album that started it all.
Kicking off this week, the Glorious Heights 10th Anniversary Tour will see Montaigne perform their acclaimed debut album from start to finish before diving into a second set packed with fan favourites from across the past ten years. It’s a celebration of where the journey began, while showcasing just how far they’ve come since the album’s original release in 2016.
Reflecting on the milestone, Montaigne acknowledged just how much life has changed since writing those songs. In the years following Glorious Heights, they’ve represented Australia at Eurovision, released multiple albums, earned a Grammy nomination for songwriting on the video game Stray Gods, toured Europe and the UK alongside Daði Freyr, and even watched a collaboration with Tom Cardy become an unexpected viral hit.
hi friends,
it’s here!!! the glorious heights 10th anniversary tour kicks off THIS WEEK and i genuinely cannot believe it’s been a decade since that album came out into the world.
ten years ago i was a very different person writing very different songs…so much has happened since: i’ve represented australia at eurovision. i’ve found my community and my place in the world, something i was fumbling to find in 2016. i finally made an album completely on my own terms with last year’s it’s hard to be a fish. i picked up a grammy nomination for my songwriting on a video game. i toured europe and the uk supporting dadi freyr on a massive 31 dates. and somewhere in there, a song about human centipede that i made with tom cardy ended up with 64 million streams and 170 million youtube views (😱😱😱)!
none of that erases where it all started – this tour is my way of honouring glorious heights, the album that made me (montaigne). we’re playing the full thing front to back, then following it up with a second set of favourites from everywhere else across the last ten years. basically: who i was when i made the album, and who i am now, in the same room, together 🥲
here’s where i’ll be over the next few weeks – 10 shows around the country, kicking off this friday in dharawal country:

there’ll be new merch, local support acts, a whole lot of nostalgia, and hopefully a good cry :’) this one’s for everyone who’s been here since the start, and everyone who’s found me since – let’s celebrate ten years properly, all of them, together!!!
as always, word of mouth is the best marketing, so if you know someone who’d wanna come celebrate 10 years of this weird and wonderful project with us, tell them!!! friends, family, colleagues, mista barista, all of them.
yayyyyy see you out there !!
love,
montaigne
Despite all those achievements, Glorious Heights remains the foundation of everything that followed, as fans can expect more than just a nostalgia trip. Alongside a full performance of the album, the shows promise brand-new merchandise, local support acts, and a second set celebrating music from every chapter of Montaigne’s career. It’s designed to bring together longtime supporters who discovered Montaigne back in 2016 and newer fans who have joined along the way.
Released on 5 August 2016, Glorious Heights introduced audiences to tracks including “Clip My Wings”, “In the Dark” and “Because I Love You”, launching a career that has continually evolved while never losing its fearless creativity. Ten years on, the songs still resonate, but now they’re joined by a decade of growth, stories and experiences. Whether you’ve been listening since day one or only recently discovered Montaigne’s music, this tour promises to be a fitting celebration of one of Australia’s most unique and ever-evolving artists.
