KLP’s ‘Point of View’ is an energetic homage to DB Boulevard

More than two decades after its original release became a staple of dancefloors around the world, Australian producer, vocalist and multi-platinum artist KLP has stepped into dangerous territory by reimagining the classic. Thankfully, rather than simply recreating the original, KLP understands exactly what made it special in the first place.

Her version of Point of View feels less like a cover and more like a conversation between generations of dance music. The iconic hook remains intact, immediately triggering a wave of nostalgia for anyone who spent time on dancefloors in the early 2000s. Yet from the opening moments, KLP makes it clear that this isn’t an exercise in imitation. The production is bigger, deeper and purpose-built for modern club systems, with driving low-end frequencies, polished house production and the kind of energy that feels at home in a festival tent or a packed nightclub at 2am.

“This song has such an iconic hook and energy,” KLP explains. “I wanted to honour that feeling but push it into a space that feels bigger, deeper and made for today’s dance floors.”

The original record was always driven by emotion as much as rhythm, as KLP leans into that emotional core, using her own acclaimed vocals to add warmth and personality while modernising the production around it. The result captures the same feeling of liberation and optimism that made the original resonate, while giving it enough contemporary muscle to sit comfortably alongside today’s house and dance releases.

Too often, reworks of classic songs rely entirely on nostalgia. However, KLP avoids that trap by treating Point of View as a foundation rather than a blueprint. The familiar elements are all present, but they’re reframed through her own creative lens, allowing the song to feel relevant rather than retrospective.

Whether she was encouraging listeners to forget life’s problems and lose themselves on the dancefloor with Busy Dancing, exploring personal and professional growth on Changes, or delivering euphoric club moments through tracks like Feelings and Symphony, KLP has consistently found ways to balance emotional connection with dancefloor functionality, that has made me and Eat This Music a fan favourite for so long!
