Back in January, I started cataloguing my list of favourite songs of 2022 – as I knew this time of the year was going to come around once again in December – after enjoying compiling a list of favourite songs in 2020 (parts 1 & 2) and 2021, respectively – a final list at the end of the year gives me another reason to share some of my favourite songs of the year with the Eat This Music audience.
However, in saying that, I don’t know if it is ironic, that the first song I catalogued in January, “Say It” by SASAMI, actually topped my own “Top Songs of 2022” on Spotify Wrapped, so to say I really enjoyed the song would be an understatement.
However, after re-reading the above, I don’t know if “Say It” is my favourite song anymore, to be honest… not that it’s a bad thing, because looking at the list in hindsight, I have over 40 pieces in total that I have added to my own Spotify playlist of favourite songs for 2022. I assure you, my top five have changed from time to time, with a bit of recency bias for artists such as Dragonette, Litany, Julia Michaels, MOTHICA, little luna, et al.
Rather than going from 1-49, I am just going to share ten songs below – in no particular order. You can listen to the entire list above at your own pace using the Spotify and Soundcloud embed – along with their own look back – in this post.
You can find a playlist of all the songs played on the program here.
See you in 2023 with more delicious music.

I’d be remiss to overlook the fact there was also so many other great tracks out there from the likes of KYTES, Parov Stelar (yes, Parov deserves a second mention), dj poolbol, Nina Nesbitt, PLAY DEAD, and others. In saying that, here is a list of some of those aforementioned and a couple of others I enjoyed in 2022.
