I have no idea how the good people over at White Label Servicing found me, but I am really glad that they did, because I got the chance to listen to FROYO’s ‘Pride’ and I really like it. I definitely like FROYO more than Froyo, mostly because I don’t eat Froyo.
They didn’t even ask me to write anything at all, but I thought I would anyway. You can listen to FROYO’s Pride for yourself below:
Get to know a little bit more about FROYO [not the frozen yoghurt kind]:
FROYO are the soundtrack to a John Hughes movie that never happened. Comprising of like-minded friends who met in Sydney while studying music, they’re a fun-toting synthpop trio with a taste for the 80s.
Forminglate in 2013 as abedroom producer outfit, Michael, Allyson, and Tomeventually switched to a band formatand have been serving up sweet spoonfuls of synthpop ever since. They firstcaught the attention of both radio presenters and music-makers after uploading their spiffy demos to Triple J Unearthed, which led tohigh rotation on the site and multiple support gigs on the regular around Sydney.
Always at work on fresh tunes, the band is now set to release their next singlePride–an extremely danceable numberfull of lush textures and a story about a careworn relationship –which maintains the group’s songwriting ethos: music needs more than a dance beat… it needs a heart beat.
So on that note, break out the windbreaker, turn up your walkman, embrace the cheese and listen to FROYO
FROYO is Michael (keys), Tom (sticks) and Allyson (buttons). Find out more about them on their Facebook, Soundcloud and Bandcamp.
