Alt-pop artist Dora Jar’s latest single “Timelapse” is an introspective track that serves as an ode to a significant life chapter spent in New York City, where Dora was born. The song opens with the existential question, “Who am I?” – a theme that resonates throughout her upcoming album.

“Timelapse” captures the essence of New York City’s dynamic and ever-changing landscape, mirroring Dora’s own journey of self-exploration. “When I moved back to New York in my early adulthood, it was the first time I felt like I could have fun living the answer to that question,” Dora says. “New York moves so fast, your surroundings blur, and change feels more intense and inevitable. I wanted this song to sound like getting lost in the busy timelapse of life.”

This release follows the success of Dora’s previous single “She Loves Me”, which explores the duality of her personality – how she presents herself in groups versus when she is alone. And a previous favourite of Eat This Music called “Puppet“.

Directed by Erica Snyder and inspired by true events, the music video for Dora’s new song features Dora navigating a Berlin apartment party, blurring the lines between her public and private selves. Stay tuned for its release soon.

“Timelapse” and its visualiser offer a glimpse into Dora Jar’s evolving music expertise, setting the stage for her highly anticipated album.
