Dig in and enjoy!

Alexa Cappelli – Lose Lose

Alexa Cappelli’s “Lose Lose” is an alt-pop anthem full of explosive, consistent cuts and jumpy instrumentals. Underlying the aforementioned is a story about relationships.

“I wrote ‘Lose Lose’ while going through a friend breakup”, Alexa reveals. “It helped me process and validate myself after consistently validating this person for years, only to still be blamed for their problems and sadness.”

Beach Weather – Trouble With This Bed

It was hard to stop hoping my head along to the sweet vocals and hypnotizing instrumentals this song from three-piece has bestowed upon anyone that happens to listen to it.

“Trouble With This Bed is a song about the melancholy loneliness we all fall victim to from time to time. Whether it’s longing for a lost flame, [a] past love or the struggle of leaving the security and safety of your own bed,” Santino from Beach Weather explains about the song. “It is a love song as much as it is a song about grief and self-reflection. The poet David Whyte said that… “The first step in spending time alone is to admit how afraid of it we are..” I think that rings true for this song.”

Dolores Forever – Conversations With Strangers c

Dolores Forever’s newest single ‘Conversations With Strangers’ is the title track from the band’s new EP – which is out now. Working in collaboration with their producer Tom on the program, the newest single is not only a heart-felt, free spirit kind of a song, but it is also full of hooks and bright harmonies.

“It’s about the dark feeling of being disconnected [from] the world around you,” the duo say about the song. “The way that conversations with strangers allow for anonymity and self-reinvention,” Hannah Wilson from the band said of the track. “And about the cyclical nature of anxious thoughts, the thoughts you stay at the party to avoid going home alone with.”

mae mae – green

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mae Mae’s “Green” is an upbeat, pop-driven taste of her upcoming EP. Continuing on from one of my favourite songs recently, “Peach“; this newest one from Mae Mae showcases a different contrast straight away, as lyrics focus on Mae Mae’s inner struggle with pessimism.

“I wrote ‘Green’ in the midst of feeling pessimistic about the future,” Mae Mae says. “I wasn’t necessarily believing what I was writing at the time, but rather trying to change my outlook through the process of creating it. The song grew into its own thing that I feel really embodies the idea of looking ahead to greener pastures while sitting in the dead space of a creative rut.”

Miki Rose – Wasted (feat. El Train)

Miki’s newest single was recorded in London and tells a story of the perspective of self-realization that comes with accepting you’ve wasted your time and energy. This song mixes Miki’s vocals and El Train’s Neo-soul experience and hypnotising production; the addition of inspiration lyrics and rhythmic foundation through its afrobeat inspiration work well together.

PapaRaZzle – SINGLE

PapaRaZzle is an AfroPop artist and his newest single, ironically called ‘Single’ is full of raw, honest emotional lyrics that capture Liverpool-based artist at his best: exploring stories about heartbreak and tailoring his energy to sweet soulful aesthetics.

The song was recorded in February this year, in Istanbul, where PapaRaZzle spent some time there alone. “I wrote and recorded ‘Single’ at the peak of my heartbreak”, PapaRaZzle says about the release of his newest song. “I was disappointed that a relationship I put a lot of effort, commitment and dedication into didn’t work out. Sometimes love isn’t just enough.”

Æsthetic Will – Affection

“Affection” is the first single and video from Italian post-punk band Æsthetic Will’s debut album. The lyrics of the song explore human contradictions, chase forbidden desires and shout phrases from Dadaism. “As if they were written on Delacroix or Rembrandt canvases with bright pink paint,” the band explains. “What Do You Say?” is a journey through the waves of music, in search of an answer to existential questions, equipped with an aesthetic will: “A will that does not attempt to find definitive answers, but rather one or more solutions to questions addressed to one’s unconscious self” explains the band.

A Cloud of Ravens – Nature of Artifice

A Cloud of Ravens’ ‘Nature of Artifice’ is a beautiful, dark new taste of the duo’s superb third full-length album – due out for release in early 2023.

The song ‘Nature of Artifice’ is about choosing to bury your head in the sand, rather than confronting glaring societal ills and moral injustices. “It’s easier to get lost in the minutia of our click-and-swipe modern world than watch its blessings crumble around us,” says Matthew from the band. “To some extent, none of us is blameless,” says Matthew McIntosh.”

Wild Arrows – Gold Ides

Wild Arrows is the project of Mike Law and his newest single under the moniker is a song that is full of repetitive, hypnotic lyrics, haunting instrumentals and a solid underlying atmosphere.

“It didn’t fit on Loving the Void [his previous album] but I’ve been really excited to release it,” Mike says about the release. “Since music is treated with such little value in our culture now I get really intense about making it have value for myself.”

Nathan Cavaleri – Cool Changes

Nathan Cavaleri’s Cool Changes is an indie-rock, surf-inspired anthem – also the first of four singles in the lead up to his new album – that showcases more of his multi-layered beats, guitar riffs, and soothing harmonies.

“I remember the editor flicking back a rough cut and I went, ‘This is awesome! It’s everything that I imagined in my head and it all happened just through going with the flow and surrendering, which was apt,” Nathan says on the release of the music video.
