The Dangerous Summer’s “Gravity” is about their lonely journey in space finding sound

Today marks an exciting announcement from The Dangerous Summer as they unveil their upcoming record, “Gravity“, set for release on in June. To coincide with the news, the band has released their latest single, also titled “Gravity”, offering listeners a glimpse into the soul-searching journey that defines this new era for the group.

“Gravity” serves as a powerful anthem, exploring themes of overcoming personal darkness and navigating the mysteries of the unknown. Lead singer AJ reflects on the genesis of the track, revealing how it almost didn’t come to fruition. Despite facing challenges during the recording process, the song evolved into a heartfelt expression of the band’s journey to find their unique sound. “‘Gravity’ almost never happened. It had an old name – ‘The Walls Outside,’ with completely different lyrics,” AJ says. “A week before the end of the record, I locked myself in my room for 2 and a half days. It was kind of a breaking point in the record, but it turned out to be filled with so much heart, that it ended up as the first single.”

“It [Gravity] really encapsulates the album. The lonely journey we spent out in space finding our sound. There were times where I thought that we would never make it back.” — AJ from The Dangerous Summer

The instrumentals and dreamlike vocals of the song invite listeners into a sonic landscape, reflecting the band’s introspective exploration of space and sound. The accompanying music video above – crafted by AJ alongside Josh Withenshaw and Christian Zawacki, depicts a group of astronauts on a resilient mission, offering a narrative of hope amidst adversity.

“Gravity” sets the stage for an immersive musical experience that promises to captivate audiences and showcase the band’s evolution as artists.
