If house music had a mission statement, this might be it… KLP, Mell Hall, and Loosie Grind have teamed up for This Is Our Haus, a track that doesn’t just nod to unity on the dance floor – it embodies it. Released via Australian label, Sweat It Out, the single is pure groove therapy: glittering toplines, basslines that grab your hips, and an overall vibe that screams, “This is where we belong.”
This track’s DNA is special. It was born at Sweat It Out & Spotify’s first-ever EQUAL Writing Camp – a project curated by KLP to champion women and gender-expansive talent in dance music. KLP, who curated the camp, turned the room into a melting pot of ideas, pulling in co-writers Tiff Cornish and SIPPY to help craft something that feels both inclusive and euphoric. The result? A song that sounds like a packed club at 2 a.m. when strangers are friends and the only thing that matters is the next drop. That curatorial vision is important; as KLP has always been more than just a performer. Back when she first stepped into her role as a label boss with Changes, she was already using her platform to amplify voices and push the scene forward
Production-wise, this song is a perfect balance between polished and raw. The bass is warm and rolling – enough to shake a room – while the topline sparkles with Mell’s signature energy. And then Loosie’s vocals are like the voice of the night itself, cutting through the haze and commanding every pair of feet on the floor. There’s a subtle nostalgia baked into the mix, a callback to classic house, but it never feels stuck in the past – this is forward-thinking, club-ready material.
There’s also this subtle nostalgia baked into the mix – a callback to house classics – but it never feels retro. Much like KLP’s earlier work on Feelings and Symphony, where she fused house with rave and techno textures; KLP is no stranger to songs built for sweaty, euphoric dance floors — I still remember covering Busy Dancing, a track about forgetting life’s problems and living for the moment, which features a lot of the aforementioned themes.
KLP is one of my favourite Australian artists, and she isn’t stopping with just thus release, as this October, she is taking the This Is Our Haus spirit international, curating a Sweat It Out writing camp with 50 global artists during Amsterdam Dance Event and throwing club nights that promise to turn the concept into a full-blown movement.
For me, this track feels like an invitation to dance, to be part of a scene that values creativity, inclusivity, and sheer joy. It would be an understatement to say that This Is Our Haus is a statement. I’ve said before that KLP has an unmatched ability to craft infectious beats that lift the room, and this track might just be her boldest statement yet.
