Kita Alexander’s debut album is the culmination of working hard

Kita Alexander has finally unveiled her much-anticipated debut album, “Young In Love”, offering a compelling narrative of love, growth, and resilience, capturing the essence of Kita’s personal journey.

Written during a month-long stint in her hometown of Byron Bay, Kita’s debut album explores the highs and lows of her twenty-eight years living – from the euphoria of love to the trials of motherhood – reflecting on her debut record, Kita explains that finding yourself in your early 20s isn’t easy. “But I feel like I’ve been able to come into myself while being in such a loving and beautiful relationship,” she continues. “Young In Love is about finding love in your youth and growing with that love. It’s about growing through the thorns to become a beautiful rose together. It’s sticking by someone through thick and thin. It’s the desire to grow old together and to hopefully celebrate a 50 year wedding anniversary. It’s the realisation that good things only come to those who work hard.”

Across the 10-track release, you are getting Kita at her best, touching on themes of youth, love, and personal evolution, celebrating the transformative power of relationships. “Young In Love is about finding love in your youth and growing with that love,” Kita adds. “It’s about growing through the thorns to become a beautiful rose together”.

“Young In Love” showcases Kita’s signature pop aesthetics – highlighted by collaborations with esteemed artists such as UK’s LAUREL and country superstar Morgan Evans – with standout tracks including “Best You Ever Had” the poignant “7 Minutes in Heaven. Additionally, the album introduces five new songs that further demonstrate Kita’s evolution as an artist.

One of the album’s standout singles, “Zodiac” encapsulates Kita’s experience of loss and hardship. Reflecting on the track, Kita explains that “‘Zodiac’ is a throwback memory devoid of any hope. “It’s me at 20 thinking about giving up on my relationship,” she emhphasies.

Kita Alexander’s Young In Love cements her status as a stalwart in the Australian pop music landscape, delivering an album that showcases her authenticity and emotional depth. Even after all of these years later, Kita’s melodies and heartfelt lyricism isn’t lost in her debut effort.
