Lola Wild’s “Get Up” is an ode to youth

Lola Wild’s latest release immerses in a world of hauntingly beautiful melodies and thought-provoking lyrical depth. Lola has always had a knack for weaving tunes, and her new track takes her unique style to new heights.

“Get Up” serves as the title track for Lola’s debut EP and showcases a blend of sounds, creating an experience that takes you on a journey through retro influences and personal experiences.

The song carries a profound message that navigates the trials and tribulations of youth. “This track is an ode to my little youth,” Lola says about her single. “Like most young people, you do and say what you thought at the time was necessary to block out certain aspects of life, I guess. Eventually, it just got to the point where I needed to get up, move on, and sort my stuff out.”

Lola dives even deeper, sharing that the song also serves as “an audible glimpse of a lot of anxieties I challenged at the time. Battling with being present, ‘happy,’ and being somewhere else mentally, influenced by my obsession with the sad clown paradox – the contradiction between outward appearance and internal emotions, hiding true feelings behind a facade of happiness.”

This introspective exploration adds layers of complexity to the song, inviting listeners to reflect on struggles with authenticity and emotional transparency. The EP further clarifies Lola’s artistic vision, resulting in a collection of songs that promise to leave a lasting impression.

Lola Wild’s “Get Up” is a reminder that sometimes, in order to truly find ourselves, people must first summon the courage to “get up” and confront innermost fears and desires.
