Feast This Music 2 – Halloween

Two years ago, Eat This Music debuted ‘Feast This Music‘ – a week-long celebration in the lead-up to Halloween – and I thought it would be a great thing to do once again. So, all this week leading up to Halloween next Tuesday, Eat This Music is feeding you a different, delicious Misfits cover-themed song.

Today for Halloween, I am sharing with you this fantastic cover of ‘Halloween’* by Brazilian alternative metal artist Anniê.

I reached out to Anniê before posting this cover to get permission to use it, and she was cool with it, which I appreciate a lot. Anniê is a musician herself and she has been making music for years, and as part of this feature she asked if I could share her latest release and the below media release:

Anniê is a Brazilian alternative metal artist; her music primarily explores episodes of depression and existential crises, offering critiques on how society at large behaves in the face of human diversity. ‘Music is my escape, and I feel incredibly happy when someone identifies with the emotions I express through it. I find joy in being able to express myself through music,’ she shares.

In her project, she collaborates with music producer and composer Dave Deville, who is responsible for the instrumental aspects and some compositions as well. ‘I really enjoy working with Dave; he is an excellent composer and producer. I believe it’s crucial to find a team that understands and helps you convey your art in the best possible way,’ she adds.

Anniê manages her YouTube channel, always prioritizing content quality, with the cinematic expertise of cinematographer Johnny Brando. ‘Johnny, besides being my love, his work is impeccable, the best I know. He helps me bring all the ideas for my channel’s music videos to life,’ she says.

Her latest release, ‘Paradise,’ a track from her debut EP ‘Chaos,’ set to be released in December, is available on all digital platforms, including Spotify.

*The song does not come off a Misfits’ album. In fact, ‘Halloween’ is the fifth song released by Misfits – written by Glenn Danzig – all the way back in 1981!
