The VANNS explore the cathartic nature of nostalgia in their newest single “Ever”

Australian indie-rock band, The VANNS, is back with a bang in 2023, releasing their new single, “Ever,” which is the first track from their upcoming studio album, due out for release in May. The long road to the album’s release has been fruitful, as the band has poured their experiences and lessons into sessions, creating a fusion of old and new sonic inspirations.

“Ever” delivers a gorgeous fusion of rhythms, poignant storytelling, and vocals. The band injects an intimate vibe into the music, forming an expansive indie-rock palette that is layered with warmth and an evocative tone. The single is thematically about the breakdown of a relationship that seemed to have all the boxes ticked as it pertains to the future and longevity of it all.

The band’s message throughout the album is to live the most fruitful and spontaneous life possible, embracing individuality and uniqueness, which shines through not just the new song, but what is to come off the album. The VANNS also released a nostalgic music video for “Ever,” filmed in the hometown of Kiama, where they returned to Jimmy Vann’s primary school to shoot the cathartic clip.

The VANNS will also celebrate the announcement and release of Last Of Your Kind with fans across Australia’s East Coast, announcing three preview shows for the album throughout Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane. Fans will be able to join the band as they perform the album in full, from front-to-back, for the first and only time.
