What started as a humorous studio conversation evolved into an anthem of playful defiance and empowerment. “It turned into the anthem of ‘I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend,’” says BANKS.

The visual for the song reflects the intensity and unapologetic energy of the track. Director Charlie describes his approach to the video as similar to a fashion editorial, filled with bold, surreal visuals and big fashion moments. Charlie aimed to build an “uncanny and erotic world” to match the storyline between BANKS and Doechii, resulting in a thrilling visual that perfectly complements the song’s feminist energy.
