Speaking on the new single, Thelma explains that the song is a love song about someone who truly sees all parts of you. “To be loved in that way by someone is, to me, so incredibly wonderful,” Thelma adds.
Thelma’s album explore themes of nostalgia, beauty, desolation, and coming of age, underscored by Thelma’s intimate storytelling. Written and recorded across multiple locations including across Australia – Brisbane, Byron Bay, London, Sydney, and Melbourne – Thelma describes “I’m Sorry, Now Say It Back” as a deeply personal project. “This record has been a long time in the making,” Thelma says. “It was created with love, heartache, forgiveness, and care in mind. It’s personal and kind of like I’m sharing pages from my diary with you, but it’s time for it to fly free.”
