Revenge Wife’s “Amore” is 100% Italian

Today marks the release of Revenge Wife’s new song, “Amore”! It’s a 100% Italian pop song that blends elements of Cascada and Daft Punk. “Italy holds a special place in my heart, and it’s been her secret dream to achieve success there and live on the beach in a bikini, sipping Campari,” Revenge Wife says about the release of her new somg. “My dad’s family is Italian, so singing and writing in Italian feels grounding, even though it’s not my first language.”

The lyrics of this song are quite trans-rights, expressing sentiments like “boy, girl, boy. I don’t care!” and “you’re a man, it’s your choice!” At the same time, many of the lyrics are directed towards Revenge Wife’s boyfriend, expressing her attraction to him. “Writing in another language has been a fun challenge, and I feel like I’m starting over as a lyricist in a way,” Revenge Wife’s continues. “I love the sense of newness it brings.”

Lately, Revenge Wife has been questioning her purpose as an artist. It’s hard not to compare her current experiences to those of her past, especially considering the success of her old band, HOLYCHILD.

“Now, when I meet people who are fans of my new project, Revenge Wife, and they don’t even know HOLYCHILD, it’s both validating and unsettling,” Revenge Wife emphasises. “It feels like I’m spreading my music farther and pushing myself to grow, but the landscape feels different now.”

Despite these uncertainties, Revenge Wife is still following the little light inside her that tells her to write songs. “I sometimes question whether I’m making this choice consciously or just going through the motions, but ultimately, I’m creating what I want to create,” Revenge Wife adds. “And I hope if you’re reading this, you’re in a similar place, making choices that make you happy. That’s all we can hope for!”

The music video for “Amore” will be out on Wednesday (though you can join her Patreon to see it early).
