Allie X’s “Girl With No Face” is a maniacally thrilling plight

Allie X’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Girl With No Face,” is a journey infused with the rebellious spirit and experimental sonics of the early 80s.

This 11-song project marks Allie’s first self-produced album, showcasing her transition into being the sole creative force behind the music, resulting in an electrifying and thrilling sound.

Reflecting on the album’s creation, Allie shares her journey of locking herself in a room to craft a record devoid of external influence, a rare endeavor in the pop realm. She credits the album’s completion as both a hedonistic pursuit of her love for post-punk and new wave music and the most immense creative challenge she’s undertaken.

“Dear reader, this may be just another album release for you. Another For me, it is an almost impossible moment that was four years (or maybe a lifetime) in the making,” Allie expresses about her album. “This album was a choice to find out what happens when I lock myself in a room and try to make a record with no one else’s help or influence. An uncommon plight in the pop realm. This was all at once a hedonistic pursuit (indulging my bottomless pit of love for the post-punk/new wave epoch in the UK) and the most immense creative challenge I’ve ever undertaken. ”

I’m proud of myself just for getting to this finish line. — Allie X on her new album.

Filled with nostalgia – yet offering a completely fresh experience – Allie’s new album takes you on an upbeat rollercoaster ride through the darkest corners of Allie’s “mindscape”, all conveyed with her signature sardonic wit. The album features previously released tracks like “Weird World,” along with the instant cult hit “Off With Her Tits,” particularly resonating within the queer community.

With her vocal experience reaching its pinnacle, Allie X continues to assert her position in the pop pantheon as one of music’s sharpest and trendsetting artists.
