Gab De La Vega’s “Preaching To The Choir” is about the heart of punk communities

Gab De La Vega has returned with this fiery new single “Preaching To The Choir”, the third preview from his album slated for release in the first week of March; this track ignites a raw energy reminiscent of Gab De La Vega’s punk and hardcore origins.

“Preaching To The Choir” marks a distinct departure from Gab De La Vega’s previous singles, by delving deeper into the raw intensity of punk and hardcore music. “‘Preaching To The Choir’ is a punk song. Period,” Gab De La Vega says about his new song. “I felt the urge the express myself in a very familiar language, one I learned many years ago and that stuck to me, that shaped me and became a part of me.”

With driving drum beats and guitar riffs, the song delivers a powerful punch that sees Gab De La Vega demonstrate a profound connection to the genre’s rebellious spirit and unyielding ethos. Reflecting on the significance of the song, Gab De La Vega emphasises the song’s punk essence and its relevance in today’s world.

“Preaching To The Choir is a punk song from the perspective of someone who grew up in the punk and hardcore community, who learned so much from it, but now sees that sometimes things don’t work out as they are supposed to,” Gab De La Vega says. “Things that once were those we criticized in the “outer world” become standard even in our community, which is far for being flawless, but still needs and deserves respect, dedication and honest commitment to keep punk rock the positive force for a change in the world we grew up with.”

The music video captures the raw energy of a live performance, showcasing Gab De La Vega and his band, The Open Cages, in their element. Shot alongside the video for “Off My Chest,” the visual narrative provides a cohesive representation of Gab De La Vega’s musical journey and his unwavering dedication to punk ideals.
