Charlotte Sands has released her highly anticipated debut album, which is the culmination of years of tireless effort, independence, and a showcase of her artistic expertise.
Charlotte’s musical journey leading up to this debut album has been a lifelong dream, a project she patiently waited for until it aligned seamlessly with her artistic vision. This album is a genre-defying work that weaves its way through rock and pop. It’s a showcase of Charlotte’s versatility, mixing in various pop, rock and alternative elements spread through her previously released singles like “blindspot,” “use me,” “pity,” and “get over it,” and alongside the six new tracks that further demonstrates her experience as a songwriter.

Each song feels like a distinct chapter in her journey, with a nod to her roots and an exploration of new sonic territories. “A few months ago I had no intention of releasing a full-length project,” Charlotte says about her album. “Every night that I left the studio I remember thinking to myself ‘That’s my favorite song I’ve ever written’ – and then the next day we would write a song I loved even more.”
The album’s title, “can we start over?,” encapsulates its core theme of rebirth and transformation. Charlotte further explains that the album is “not about forgetting the past or regretting our choices but more so letting go of the previous version of ourselves and meeting each other where we are at this moment in the phases that we’re currently in.” This introspective approach is evident in her lyrics and the emotional depth of the songs.”
“At the end of the three days, I had three records that felt like the best music I’d ever been a part of,” Charlotte continues about the creative process. “Each song was so different yet so representative of who I am now, I knew they would someday be released into the world but I was certain they had to be released together.” Those three songs now lead the charge for the album, releasing as the first three singles in the exact order they were written.”
With this album, Charlotte hopes to convey “strength, confidence, and power within vulnerability,” and it’s evident that she does across the 10 songs. Each track feels like a mirror reflecting her growth and evolution as an artist and as a person.
