Asha Jefferies’ “Keep My Shit Together” is an ode to feelings around Christmas time

Brisbane’s indie-pop artist Asha Jefferies has released a gem, nestled comfortably between indie folk and the infectious optimism.

“Keep My Shit Together” dances between head-spinning indie-pop and moments of introspective lyricism. Asha Jefferies showcases her musical expertise with a playful blend of genres, creating a sound that’s uniquely her own. The song invites you into a world where existential ponderings meet the buoyancy of feel-good pop.

Behind the scenes, the magic is orchestrated by Sam Cromack of Ball Park Music. The production and mixing expertise of Sam adds an extra layer of vibrancy to the track. As the song bounces between catchy indie-pop hooks, it delivers not only assured humor but also a sense of gravitas, showing Asha’s ability to balance lightness and depth seamlessly.

Asha’s “Keep My Shit Together” is a narrative of holiday sentiments and self-reflection. “Keep My Shit Together was written one hot and sweaty day around my piano in December,” Asha says about the song. “While feeling stuck and existential, this song is an ode to bringing lightness to hot and heavy feelings around Christmas time. We recorded this in mid-December, air-con cranking and all in organized matching white tank tops.”

While “Keep My Shit Together” is a stellar addition to Asha’s growing catalog, fans can anticipate more. Currently putting the finishing touches on her debut full-length album, Asha promises a journey into honesty.

“When everything builds up in my head, I create these narratives that spiral around things that happened, but they aren’t always the actual truth,” Asha says about her album. “I owe it to myself to be honest with myself, so I always want to come back into my body, to see the reality of things.”

In “Keep My Shit Together,” Asha delivers dexterity, combining genres with ease and offering listeners a vibrant escape into her world.
