Dora Jar’s “Puppet” is a message to her past self

Emerging alternative-pop artist Dora Jar has released her latest single, “Puppet,” a song that doubles as a journey across introspection and innovation. This track – inspired by a message to her past self – “Puppet” showcases Jar on a quest for autonomy, posing the powerful question, “Can you help me cut my thread?”

“Puppet” is a feast, adorned with synths, droplets of xylophone, and harmonies. The pulsating drums lay the foundation for Dora’s screaming chorus, creating a landscape that thrashes and cleanses in equal measure. The song’s instrumentation is a showcase of Dora’s new era that blends glam rock into her body of work.

Building on the success of her debut EP and the introspective beauty of “Comfortably in Pain,” Dora’s “Puppet” marks a thrilling evolution in her discography, with the track’s creation process, contrary to its vibrant energy, unfolding in a serene landscapes of remote Alaska.

“Puppet came together earlier this year while I was off social media, in a remote part of Alaska,” Dra emphasies. “I wrote the lyrics in a cabin overlooking a river full of salmon who swim upstream in august to return to where they were born, lay their eggs and die. Being off the internet my awareness shifted away from how I was perceived online to a strong feeling that everything around me was alive, and aware.”

Dora Jar’s “Puppet” mixes psychedelic elements, introspective lyricism, and her expressive vocal delivery to create an experience that is a declaration of artistic autonomy.
