Hannah Wicklund’s new video for her latest single, ‘Hell in the Hallway,’ is a haunting track taken from her upcoming album, set for release in January. Penned by Hannah and Stevie Aiello of 30 Seconds to Mars, ‘Hell in the Hallway’ mixes together a tale of resilience, strength, and overcoming the twisted whispers of doubt.
The music video for her latest song is a collaboration with director Jason Lee Denton, using a dozen of Hannah’s own art pieces to create a visual narrative that mirrors the thematic elements of the upcoming album. The setting, a castle floating on a cloud, serves as the backdrop for each song, creating a cohesive and enchanting visual experience.
Hannah goes beyond just the music with her artistic expression, as each song on the album is accompanied by a large-scale oil painting, illustrating a unique scene within the castle. This holistic approach adds a layer of depth to the album, inviting listeners into a fully immersive world of sound and visuals.
Hannah’s creative process is eloquently expressed in the new music video, taking the you – the viewer – through the various symbolic settings corresponding to different tracks.
“Each song I’ve released thus far is represented inside this video,” Hannah says. “We start in the courtyard of the castle, the visual aid for ‘Witness’, which leads us to the checkerboard hallway for ‘Hell in the Hallway’, taking us then through the maze of ‘Hide and Seek’, the first single off of the record. The bridge of the song then brings us to a more atmospheric moment, where my mandalas and patterns take over. I see this as a moment of clarity, where what you value most in life becomes clear.”
‘Hell In The Hallway’ is a captivating blend of music and visuals, that features a transformative and empowering experience, leaving an indelible mark on the evolving narrative of her music.
