Feast This Music 2

Feast This Music 2 – Day 1: Astro Zombies

Two years ago, Eat This Music debuted ‘Feast This Music‘ – a week-long celebration in the lead-up to Halloween – and I thought it would be a great thing to do once again. So, all this week leading up to Halloween next Tuesday, Eat This Music is feeding you a different, delicious Misfits cover-themed song.

A couple of weeks ago I got lost in an internet blackhole (a.k.a. YouTube) where I came across covers of Misfits songs. Misfits is one of my favourite bands – along with NOFX, Bad Religion, and Suicidal Tendencies – so I was happy as could be, and before I knew it, the time was fast approaching five a.m… That experience got my thinking; why not dedicate an entire week to Misfits and call it “Feast This Music 2”? I thought it would be a great way to celebrate the holiday and also an excuse to share covers I came across that I enjoyed a lot. Their are incredible artists around the world applying their craft – and subsequently paying tribute – to Misfits’ songs.

To kick off the series, I am sharing with you this fantastic ukulele cover of ‘Astro Zombies’* by California-based musician and former skateboarder, Adrian Demain**.

Dig in and enjoy! Mwahaha!

*The original song comes off Misfits’ 1982 album, Walk Among Us.
**I reached out to Adrian to ask for permission to use his cover of the song before posting and he was cool with it. So please check some other fantastic covers he has done over the years.
