MORGXN’s “My Revival” is a tale of resilience and redemption

MORGXN’s “My Revival” is an example of his aptitude for blending powerful instrumentals, expert production, and soulful vocals.

“My Revival” begins with a dynamic arrangement of sounds infused authenticity, with the addition of real strings adding a depth of richness to the overall presentation of the song. MORGXN’s strong vocal range carries the weight of the song’s emotional journey across its over three-minute runtime, which he delivers beautifully with every note. What sets this track apart, though, is the inclusion of a full-on choir, a decision that adds a layer of transcendence to an already powerful song. The choir elevates the chorus to new heights, making it an unforgettable moment.

“Sometimes revivals come after the fall,” MORGXN says about the influence of his newest song. “When I went independent in 2020 I had no idea my music would take off in such a way — performing it on television and streaming over 100 million times. But something in me knew that the journey had just begun, and I knew that I had to make this record in my hometown – in a way I had never done before.”

Coming off the release of his upcoming album, due out for release in February, 2024, “My Revival” encapsulates the essence of MORGXN’s artistic journey as an independent artist, and the idea that peoples’ greatest revivals often come after periods of adversity. The lyrics resonate with a sense of personal growth and renewal, and MORGXN’s heartfelt delivery makes the message even more impactful.

“We recorded it [the album] with a band, which I’ve never done before. It’s real musicians playing the songs. Real strings! It’s not synthetically created in a laboratory, dude,” MORGXN says about his album. “The energy is palpable, and at many moments, joyous. “And there’s a choir! With my first album, I was told I could not record a choir on my song ‘home.’” Of course, he did it anyways, by gathering friends to sing in his living room. “But for this record, I wasn’t playing — I put a choir on almost every song!”

“My Revival” serves as an beautiful introduction of what is to come from his album.
