SNOW WIFE’s “HIT IT” is a personal showcase of changing styles

Emerging pop singer/songwriter SNOW WIFE has teamed up with Big Boss Vette on a brand new song that is a perfect showcase of their respective worlds of music that also happens to double as a captivating musical experience, marking a significant shift in SNOW WIFE’s artistic journey from rap to pop.

*Language warning: the song contains explicit lyrics that may not be for everyone

SNOW WIFE’s “HIT IT” is the type of song that draws you in with its first opening notes – not to overlook its punchy production – as SNOW WIFE brings together her influence of a range of genres, including pop, alternative, and rap; to blend these into an aesthetic landscape that is both infectious and dynamic. Instrumentally – developed with collaborators such as slush puppy and Jason Hahs – is a showcase of digital, punchy-pop aesthetic and vocal performances, which are a level on their own, adding depth and character to the song’s performance two-minute and 22 second runtime.

With this new song, it is clear that SNOW WIFE continues to define her work as both an artist and a lyricist, and this song’s rolling effect in its glitchy chorus is a perfect example of the power of recurring lyrical expression. In fact, SNOW WIFE’s storytelling is exemplified in its overall narrative. As story wise, HIT IT is a about the reflection of her own unique perspective, which was shaped by her upbringing and the challenges she has faced along her personal and professional journey:

“‘HIT IT’ showcases my voyage from hyperpop niche rap into the commercial field of pop leaning rap,” SNOW WIFE says about the story of the song. “Given this direction, it only felt natural to call on Big Boss Vette to tie in this new global aesthetic.”

Bringing in Big Boss Vette as the only vocal collaborator on the song – to complement the beautiful sound – is a nice touch, as both artists’ chemistry is evident within their shared vocal exchanges, going back and forth in lyrical wit, to create a synergy that elevates this track to its climatic end. I’d be remised not to agree with SNOW WIFE herself, this song is a good showcase of her transition from the hyper-pop rap to the pop-leaning rap, which is executed perfectly in this song, and Big Boss Vette’s contribution adds a layer of authenticity and appeal with her commanding vocal dominance.

Coming off the release of SNOW WIFE’s mixtape due out this week, this new song serves as a perfectly crafted showcase of SNOW WIFE’s growing evolution as an artist and a promising glimpse into her future.
