Sydney Miller explores the emotional experience of social isolation in her new single ‘Left Out’

Sydney Miller’s latest single is a beautiful piece that showcases her matured creative approach and refined craft – following her single ‘Behind Closed Doors‘ – taking a different turn, delving into the emotionally charged experience of feeling socially isolated.

The production of her new song engulfs with a fiercely painted narrative and visceral lyrics through a stimulating soundscape that is confidently mixes percussive elements and synths that create an immersive sonic experience.

Sydney’s unique creative process shines throughout the entire three-minute and 35 second runtime, as she gathers a collection of object recordings specific to the song, crafting an unconventional soundscape that replaces traditional instrumental elements.

“I rarely write songs with undertones of such self-wallow and biassed blame,” Sydney says about the song. “It was important for me to continue moulding the production until the soundscape framed the context of Left Out in a way which was less shallow and more evocative.”

“Left Out has undergone the most significant editing process of any piece I have ever made – at least 5 stages of very different final drafts.” — Sydney Miller

Layers of samples are expertly woven into the composition, enhancing the track’s depth and texture, through the cleverly crafted pulse, complemented by the subtle sounds that hint at the track’s paranoid context. Sydney’s vocal performance adds a nice layer to the song – with raw emotion and authenticity – her songwriting dives deep into self-reflection, offering a portrayal of vulnerability and introspection.

This new song is just another perfect example of her ability to create emotionally charged music with a captivating soundscape, heartfelt vocals, and thought-provoking lyrics. Sydney continues to push the boundaries of her sound, and ‘Left Out’ is a fantastic additional to her catalog.
