‘Echosmith’ is an ode to embracing a multifaceted life through growth and authenticity

Echosmith‘s new self-titled album is a 12-track masterpiece doubling as a glimpse of the band’s growth and creative force, showcasing their fresh perspective and newly liberated approach through each and every somng. Sydney, Noah, and Graham Sierota dive fearlessly into a sonic evolution, baring their souls through heartfelt songwriting that reflects a period of intense personal and professional growth for each member.

The album is a pop kaleidoscope, showcases alternative soundscapes, pop hooks, and synths that embody the band’s original indie spirit fans have come to love about their work – myself include (otherwise I wouldn’t be writing about them.

You’d be remiss to overlook their key single, and a prominent feature of the album, “Sour“. The song perfectly sums up this new chapter, and where the band want to take their music. Sydney’s silky vocals shine, complemented by Noah’s synth wave-inspired production – while drawing inspiration from the challenges and commitment found in Sydney’s long-distance marriage – the song is pure storytelling at its best.

Each track on the album unveils a different facet of the band’s identity as young adults and as a family. From the thought-provoking messages across “Greedy” which explores the notion of what God owes humans, to the sassy vibes of “Sucks 2 Be Us” with its lithely plucked digital drums, and to the captivating journey through the band’s personal and emotional landscapes of “Golden Child”; the album has a lot to offer.

Having already given fans a taste of the album with “Gelato“, “Hang Around” and “Hindsight“, Echosmith has delivered a beautiful and cohesive experience in the form of their self-titled album. Echosmith is an ode to embracing life’s messiness, struggles, and beauty, with a sound that soars – both high and low – through their growth and authenticity.
