Seeb x BANNERS x SUPER-Hi – Submarine

Norwegian DJ duo Seeb’s latest single ‘Submarine’ – a collaboration with production team SUPER-Hi and vocalist BANNERS – is a nostalgic anthem for a lost love that never fully blossomed, accompanied by impactful and emotional storytelling in the AI music video. The narrative centers around an elderly man living alone by the coast, whose dreams transport him back to a fleeting romance from over fifty years ago.

Seeb’s production is noteworthy, with a mix of dance-pop and classic electronic sounds that create an anthemic atmosphere. The sweet vocals of BANNERS flow seamlessly with the instrumentals, as the track builds to a crescendo of synths and drums. The addition of Charlie Harding and Andy Wass’ production skills from SUPER-Hi, and the stellar dobro playing of Tom Bukovac, make for a polished and memorable tune.

Alison Ogden – too close

Alison Ogden’s “Too Close” is a dance-pop track with a nostalgic 80s vibe and an empowering message showcasing her honeyed and powerful vocals with a seductive instrumental that blends perfectly with Alison’s sultry vibes, delivering an upbeat and confident energy that radiates with empowerment. grentperez – the Western-Sydney bedroom pop artist – has announced his latest disco-infused single ‘When The Day Is Done’, which is a song soaked in disco-soul, with the feel of a timeless classic that serves as a departure from his previous ballad. This latest song showcases grentperez’s ability to craft dynamic soundscapes while building up a punchy syncopated pre-chorus melody before letting loose into an unstoppable boogie. Every detail of this song’s production, from the stacked harmonies on the bridge to the roiling congas, are nicely done.

Nessa Barrett – american jesus

Nessa Barrett’s latest single “american jesus” is a sultry and unapologetic anthem that showcases the young artist’s seductive vocals against the thrumming guitar and pulsing bass. In the track, Nessa sings about the fantasy of being saved by someone who is like a cowboy in a crown. “It’s about longing and desire,” Nessa says about the story. “Everyone dreams about a love that’s heavenly, and I know everyone will be able to relate to this.”

“american jesus” follows the release of “BANG BANG” a punk-inspired track that weaves fantasies of revenge with driving drums and screeching guitar. These tracks are taken from her critically acclaimed debut album.

Aáyanna – Won’t Cry

Aáyanna’s “Won’t Cry” showcases her stunning vocals, beautifully complementing the dreamy production and her songwriting captures the heartbreak of a painful breakup. The lyrics are raw and authentic, giving listeners a glimpse into Aáyanna’s innermost thoughts and feelings. As she questions the love she shared with her ex-partner, Aáyanna wonders if their relationship was real or just an idealized version of each other.

Woodes – Magic

Kite – Don’t Take The Light Away

Swedish synth-pop duo Kite has released their first single, “Don’t Take The Light Away,” under Dais Records, showcasing the duo’s chemistry at its most urgent, thrilling, and apocalyptic. The song features singer Nicklas’ wounded croon, leading a rising tide of stabbing strings, pulsing percussion, and looming bass orchestrated by keyboardist Christian Hutchinson Berg, culminating in a mass-chanted chorus both desperate and triumphant.

Described as a song about “the war between energies,” “Don’t Take The Light Away” is a powerful testament to the group’s mastery of production, with each element contributing to the song’s dramatic and intense atmosphere. The instrumentals in particular stand out, with the pulsing percussion and stabbing strings contributing to the song’s sense of urgency, while the looming bass provides a foundation for the entire track.

Kite’s vocals are also a standout feature, with Stenemo’s croon conveying a deep sense of emotion and struggle, particularly in the song’s climax where the melody becomes a battle cry.

Kristi Jacques – Scorched Earth

Kristi Jacques has graced us with her new single “Scorched Earth” – a powerful and upbeat track that delivers a message of empowerment. Kristi’s signature blend of catchy hooks, raw emotion, and powerful vocals shine through in this release, drawing the listener in from the very first note.

The production on “Scorched Earth” is great, with Kristi’s dynamic voice being accompanied by an infectious guitar riff and driving drumbeat. The instrumentals perfectly capture the energy and emotion of the song, with the mix allowing each element to shine while still working together seamlessly.

Chris Shiflett – Dead And Gone

Chris Shiflett, the guitarist for the Foo Fighters, has released his latest single ‘Dead And Gone’, written in the spring of 2020, the song is an ode to Shiflett’s hometown and some of the people who have influenced him along the way. The track is a unique blend of rock’n’roll and classic country, with a driving rhythm that invites listeners to get up and dance.

‘Dead And Gone’ is the first song from Shiflett’s upcoming album, which is set to be released later in 2023. Featuring the sweet dobro playing of Charlie Worsham and the swampy tremolo guitar tones of Tom Bukovac, ‘Dead And Gone’ is a groove-laden, two-steppin’ track that perfectly captures the essence of Shiflett’s hometown.
