Anna of the North explores the numbness of life in her newest single “Try My Best”

Back in December, I had the opportunity to chat with Norwegian singer-songwriter Anna of the North about the release of her (then) latest album “Crazy Life“, however, since then, Anna has gone on to announce the release of a deluxe version, and “Try My Best” is the second of three new tracks to be featured on the upcoming new version of the album. Co-written by Anna, Madelene Eliasson, and Marcus White, the song is a poignant exploration of the numbness we can feel while living life.

Anna’s ethereal vocals perfectly capture the mood of the song, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that listeners can easily get lost in. The production of the track is understated but effective, allowing Anna’s voice to take center stage while still providing a lush soundscape for the song to exist in.

This attention to detail in both the vocals and production are consistent with Anna’s previous work. Anna’s third studio album, Crazy Life, was released in November 2022 and featured fan-favourite tracks like “Listen” and “Nobody.”

“Try My Best” is a beautiful addition to Anna of the North’s discography, and the upcoming Crazy Life (Deluxe) album will be another standout release from this talented artist. Fans of dreamy pop music won’t want to miss this.
