Grouplove explore validation and fulfillment in their new releases

Atlanta-based indie rock group GROUPLOVE have announced their upcoming album, which will be released in July, marking their first release on the renowned indie label. In anticipation of the album’s release, the band has dropped a double single entitled “Hello” / “All,” complete with accompanying music videos that explore the central themes of the album and feature the band donning a custom five-person suit created by designer Nonja McKenzie.

The opening track of the album, “All,” sets the tone for the record with lead vocalist/guitarist Christian delivering a passionate and intense vocal performance as he lists off a series of unfulfilled desires. The song then erupts into a powerful outburst of emotion, capturing the feeling of longing and frustration that permeates the track. Christian himself explains that the song is a reflection on the human tendency to always want more than what we have, and how we can often overlook the things that truly matter in the pursuit of validation from others.

In contrast to the intensity of “All,” “Hello” is a bright and energetic track that GROUPLOVE recorded on their last day in the studio. According to vocalist Hannah, the song came together spontaneously in the studio, with the band feeling a sense of freedom and ease after completing the album. The result is a catchy and infectious tune that belies the deeper themes that the lyrics explore, with Zucconi noting that the song is ultimately about the desire for human connection and the feeling of being lost in the world.

Musically, their new singles showcase GROUPLOVE’s impressive range and versatility, with the band experimenting with a variety of different sounds and styles. From the propulsive rhythms and distorted guitars of “All” to the dreamy atmospherics of “Hello,” there is no doubt the other songs on the album will be a testament to the band’s ability to create music that is both emotionally resonant and musically adventurous.

“All” and “Hello” are bold and ambitious singles from GROUPLOVE, marking a new chapter in the band’s career as they explore new musical territories and confront the deeper issues that define the human experience.
