Indie four-piece Death By Denim has just dropped their latest EP, “My House Is A Club”, and it’s a late-night party starter. The EP is a sonic reflection of a state of mind that oscillates between madness and sadness, with bold, chaotic, and thumping beats that mask the undertones of aimlessness and hedonistic nights.
The EP’s latest single, “Hope We Don’t Fall In Love“, is a synth-dance track that explores the fear of new love when one is still attached to a past relationship. Death By Denim explains that the song represents the hope that things will return to how they used to be, preventing one from moving forward with a new connection.
The EP opens with the title track, “My House Is A Club“, a supercharged anthem inspired by the chaos of living in a derelict share house that turns into a non-stop party destination by night. The track portrays the highs and lows of constantly chasing the party life while masking the search for deeper connection and meaning in reality.

“We wanted the breadth of the EP to sound “FUN” even though the lyrics are awfully somber and shaky at times.” — Death By Denim
The EP also features two previous hits, “Draped In Vapour” and “Magic Daisy“. “Draped In Vapour” offers a hit of fruity scented mist in the depths of late-night conversations in the smokers’ section, while “Magic Daisy” is a fusion of fuzzy, sun-soaked rock’n’roll and wavy synths.

The EP’s final track, “Cruel”, leads the listener into the early hours of the morning with its dark and windy number signifying the distance felt when you lose touch with someone you’re seeing.
According to Death By Denim, the EP is largely about being in limbo, whether in personal relationships or life pursuits and choosing to ignore it with a constant intake of meaningless celebration and socialisation, masking the fact that one is afraid to move forward and forever feeding this inaction.
Despite the somber and shaky lyrics, the band wanted the EP to sound “FUN”. It [the EP] was recorded at a promising time, with the band having their dreams come true with a LAV performance, and national touring was back on the agenda. This inspired them to make music that reflects the fact that they were dancing on their feet through most of the recording process.
