Woodes reflects on the passage of time in her newest single “Lifetime”

Woodes‘ “Lifetime” is a soulful, introspective new single that reflects on the passage of time and the idea that the best may be yet to come. The track is the first taste of the Australian artist’s upcoming EP set for release in June.

The gentle strums of acoustic guitar that open “Lifetime” set the tone for a deeply personal and organic song, with tender lyrics that offer reassurance and hope. Woodes’ vocals are raw and emotional, with an understated delivery that draws the listener in. The production is sparse and delicate, allowing the beauty of the melody and lyrics to shine through.

The accompanying music video for “Lifetime,” directed by Nick Mckk, is a perfect complement to the song’s introspective mood. Shot in the wilds of Australia, it features Woodes spending a day with friends, enjoying the simple pleasures of life and finding solace in nature.

Woodes’ upcoming EP will be her fourth solo project, following on from her self-titled debut EP in 2016, 2018’s Golden Hour, and her debut album in 2020, as well as a string of successful singles and collaborations. With her cinematic soundscapes and emotionally resonant lyrics, Woodes has gained a devoted following both in her native Australia and around the world.

Woodes’ “Lifetime” is a beautiful example of her unique sound, blending organic instrumentation with electronic flourishes and heartfelt lyrics. It’s a testament to her talent as a songwriter and her ability to connect with listeners on a deep, emotional level. With Kingdom Come on the horizon, fans of Woodes have much to look forward to, and newcomers to her music will find much to appreciate in this soulful, introspective single.
