Luna Vexa explores the heart-wrenching story of wanted love in her newest single, “9 Bullets”

Australian artist Luna Vexa is kicking off her 2023 campaign with the release of – possibly the best – new addition to her arsenal of songs, with the powerful, pop anthem, “9 Bullets“. Out today on digital streaming platforms, Luna’s newest single tells the heart-wrenching story of wanted love, as two people are unable to be together due to circumstances beyond their control.

The strongest aspects of Luna’s newest single – audibly and visually – are thrown into your view from the moment of the build-up at the start, and up until Luna’s vocals kick in within 20 seconds, the underlying haunting aesthetics, the stop-and-start of instrumental push-and-pull, and the assortment of digital production. You’d be remiss to overlook the fact Luna’s “9 Bullets” is more than just your typical pop ballad, full of powerful vocals and anthemic drums that drive the big bassline, however, this is a song that creates a mesmerizing sound that is sure to resonate with someone, somewhere.

Circling back to the over-arching story about love: the lyrics of “9 Bullets” further explore intense feelings of longing and desire that both characters experience. In fact, “9 Bullets” is a poignant and emotional tribute to the enduring power of love, even when it seems impossible.

I had the opportunity to get an understanding of who Luna was with the releases of her previous songs ‘dreaming‘, ‘illusions‘ and EP, respectively. However, it’s the release of her newest offering that showcases why the Melbourne-based artist is continuing to push the boundaries of her genre through her stunning vocals and presentation.
