“Fly” is the latest single from Los Angeles-based hip-hop artist Capo Corleone, which also sees his work in collaboration with notable Polish jazz musician Kuba Więcek and pop artist Zalia. Capo’s new single was inspired by a period in his life that saw immense growth.
“I was constantly surrounded by uninspiring and self-interested people dreaming about a life I knew I could attain,” Capo confides. “Upon eliminating these people from my life, I began only surrounding myself with people who built me up and added to my life and who truly wanted to see me succeed.”
“Fly” is the story of Capo’s evolution and the story of him following his gut and intuition to great success. It’s a story of Capo simply killing the old version of himself and creating a new one.

“Bruises” is served as a reintroduction to who Annika is as an artist and person; Annika wrote the song after watching somebody she loved self-inflict suffering as a product of profound pain & insecurity.
“It was my way of feeling connected to somebody who isolated themself from everyone that encouraged healing,” Annika says about the inspiration of the song. “I learned that the metaphorical ‘bruises’ of your loved ones inevitably become your own as you stand on the sidelines until they’re ready for change. It’s a dance-while-you-cry kinda song.”
Previously known as Quinn L’Esperance, Qwynn – under her new moniker – has released “In Between”, which is the second single from her forthcoming album, set for release in early 2023.
‘In Between’ is a pop song about being in a place in a relationship where you both have an opinion about something that you just can’t agree on. “Maybe you end up working it out or maybe you ultimately end up breaking up, but there’s that moment in between it all where you decide to either fight for the other person or give up on them,” Gwynn says. “Relationships aren’t always rainbows and butterflies, but there’s always something you learn from them. I think that it’s something we can all relate to.”
It’s a video featuring cats. Nothing else needs to be said.

apollonio‘s “OCD” is deep and powerful pop song about psychological struggle: being trapped by OCD, then seeing the light through the widening cracks. The song was written in the depths of winter, February 2022, with his producer Mark and fellow musicians Gary and Stephen, at a cabin up north of Toronto.
“We spent a few days smashing out a huge amount of recordings for this song and several others,” apollonio reveals about the creative process of his new single. “There we were, packed in this small space, heated by a wood stove, full of all this amazing sound… it was all a bit psychedelic and delirious. Whenever you felt cagey, you could go out onto the frozen lake with snowshoes and walk around in the silence and brilliant sunshine.”

Yabba is a band out of Scotland and they have arrived with this frantic debut single that sees the band showcase a sleaze-disco, self-indulgent, sound driven in dark and danceable alternative rock (I think). Either way, this is a great song that – even if overlooked – offers a glimpse into a well-oiled band that offers consistent drum beats and hypnotising vocals.
Speaking about the release of the single, the band explain that ‘GET BY’ can be used as much as C4 is used to blast the doors off a bank. “The song carries the same burden shared with the common people in the UK,” the band say. “GET BY is the theme song Stone Cold Steve Austin wished he had. GET BY is not for nerds. We heard only hot people like GET BY. GET BY was written in one of the last prison houses in Scotland. It’s BIG MUSIC, once you hear it, you’ll never be the same.”
If I lived in Scotland, you better believe I would see this band live!

The newest Seasurfer single comes as part of a two A-sides release, featuring a post-punk dancer and a noise-pop indie-hit for you to enjoy. And with a special surprise: for the first time with male vocals! After four albums with four different singers, this time around you’ll find Ricardo Silva Veloso from Porto adding support on the microphone.
Jenny O.‘s “The Natural World” follows the release of her single “Prism“, which was released in Spring, however, both songs serve as a taste of her new album coming in early 2023. Furthermore, both songs finds Jenny O. pushing past the epiphany and acceptance explored in her 2020 album New Truth — further into an illuminated space that celebrates multitudes. These are songs of affirmation and activation.
“I wanted to film The Natural World video in the redwoods of California because it’s the most alive place I know,” Jenny O. says about the music video for her new single. “Old-growth forests are the best carbon-capture technology in existence.”
For the visually, Jenny O. wanted a futuristic vision of a flourishing Earth. “We imagine, and we are presented, in film and literature, with every version of dystopia – dusty, bleak, and sinister,” Jenny O. adds. “I think it’s important to envision the future we want so we can fight for it. What future are we calling forth? What could it look like?”
Toronto-based artist poolblood has released a fresh taste of their newly announced debut album, out January 2023. Whilst their album is full of stories about deep and abiding intimacies – both romantic and platonic – it is this new song that shines nicely through its lush, dense and beautiful atmosphere (lyrically and sonically), and also doubling as a wistful, country pop ode to friendship.

The song is the final pre-release single from the band’s debut First Five EP out now.
“In the song, I imagined the roof exploding and seeing our world from the stars,” Matt from The Natural Lines says about the song. “Space and time, completely out of whack. Something clicked and I wondered what [Director Jennifer Taylor’s] early films would look like with this current track. As if we might be able to make sense of our lives by attaching the present to the past.”
