Blu DeTiger explores the possibilities of letting go in her new song “Hot Crush Lover”

In what might be the messiest video since Maison Hall’s ‘Montreux‘, Blu DeTiger’s new single “Hot Crush Lover” works similar to the aforementioned video, in the way the titular artist uses the proverbial visual landscape to drive the song’s story, which in this case is about letting go and meeting new people.

The strongest aspects of this song are the carefree nature – highlighted by the Blu’s delicate and charming vocals – and the vibrant bassline with an assortment of underlying instrumentals, shadowing an easy-going guided ride through the funfilled 3-minutes and 16-second visuals of colourful world-building.

“It’s about snapping out of how you’re feeling, gaining some confidence, and learning to have fun and live your life uninhibited,” Blu says on the release of the song. “The video is meant to reflect this feeling. It’s wild, colorful, fun, to the point where eventually I’m dripping in slime.”

Blu DeTiger is a solid musician, not only lyrically but also visually. The New York native continues to drive forward her strong stable of work through her brand of alternative sound.
