Mattiel’s ‘Lighthouse’ is a positive, uplifting song for anyone who hears it

Atlanta-based rock ’n’ soulers Mattiel – made up of two-piece Mattiel and Jonah – have today shared their new song ‘Lighthouse‘, which also happens to be the latest taste of what is to come from their 11-track album, due out for release in March.

If this song is anything to go by, it is the fact Mattiel has an incredible voice, that pinpoints the song’s message of the positive, uplifting nature of ‘Lighthouse’ itself. This nearly four-minute song should be held tight to your chest in this regard: it is used as an in-real-life feel-good euphemism for a refuge in a storm or a place to rest before you have to go back out into the waves again.

In fact, this is the type of song for the types of people who are struggling to finish a project, whatever that may mean to them in their life’s context. As Mattiel, herself puts it: “If you’re working toward something and it feels like an uphill battle, that can be a sign that you’re headed in the right direction. And there’s always someone or something to help guide you through it.”

It’s a shame to admit the last time Mattiel was covered on Eat This Music was back in May 2019, so it feels good to have them on the platform again in some capacity. Expect more in the lead-up to the release of their third album.
