Eat This Song of the Day | ‘Kapow!’ by Phil Jamieson

Today’s delicious Eat This Song of the Day comes from Grinspoon frontman, Phil Jamieson. Phil Jamieson has been fronting the Australian band Grinspoon since 1995, so there is no doubt he has the skills and experience to develop his own music as a solo act.

Phil has had this music floating around for a little while and now it was the perfect time for him to share it with the world. ‘Kapow!’ is about the thrill and sense of wild abandonment someone feels when falling in love for the first time; that kind of precipice moment where you stand and feel exhilaration and a rush – when everything is everything.

“I’ve actually been playing Kapow! in my live sets for a year or thereabouts,” Phil says. “I’ve been DM’d on socials asking about this mystery song in the set.”

This is a rock song down to its core. The beats, the drums, the guitars, the gritty vocals, and the overall performance. It’s a beaut.
