Sparrows follows the narrative of a relationship breakdown in her new single “Hide & Seek”

Sparrows is Jess Nattie, a pop artist out of Sydney, Australia, and recently Sparrows released her new single “Hide & Seek“, a song – that Sparrows revealed to Eat This Music – follows the narrative of a relationship breakdown where there has been a game of hide & seek.

Since the release of Sparrows’ previous single “Over & Out“, Sparrows has been supporting Northeast Party House on their ‘Magnify’ national tour, attended 2 APRA songhubs and wrote with some amazing artists/producers including Isabella Manfredi (The Preatures), Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie), Gab Strum (Japanese Wallpaper) as well as working on her own material for release.

Speaking to Eat This Music on the creation of the single, Sparrows revealed that she sampled “a little boy next door playing hide & seek,” then made a beat” and then worked collaborated at an APRA songhub to bring the idea to life.”

“Music is my life, all the songs I make are relevant to me and I hope others will connect.” — Sparrows

On why Sparrows wanted to release the single – and in fact, make the single at all – Sparrows revealed because it felt good and it felt like the right time. And while Sparrows did have a different single to release prior to Hide & Seek, Sparrows “felt like it would be cool to start off 2020 with an upbeat pop vibe.”

2020 looks to be a busy time for Sparrows as she has “lots of songs to release”, and has recently formed a label with Sydney artist Fluir, Sparrows expressed how awesome it is that they have “full creative control and extra support” when it comes to working on projects.
