What I’ve Been Listening To: Margø

Edmonton’s Margø explains why she is a fan of Bishop Briggs, K. Flay, grandson, Billie Eilish, Bastille and Odesza in the new issue of What I’ve Been Listening To.

Margø’s brand new single ‘Game Over‘ is due out for release on June 7 and is now available for pre-save through Spotify and iTunes.

What is on your ‘Must Listen To’ list and why?

Right now I have artists like Bishop Briggs, K. Flay, grandson, and Billie Eilish on repeat. I respect all of these musicians so much and find that they all have played such a big role in influencing who I am as an artist.

Which are your guilty pleasure songs?

Honestly, anything by Bastille! Their albums have provided a soundtrack to so many of the best times in my life – their music has always been essential while travelling and living far from home. I’ve also attended their concerts with some of my best friends, so now whenever I listen to Bastille’s music it always reminds me of those great memories! They have a new album coming out next month and I’m so excited about that as well.

Which song would you have liked to feature on?

I’m a really big fan of Odesza, I have such a love for how beautifully epic and cinematic their music is. I would absolutely love to feature on anything they create – I’d be so honoured if I ever got to work with them!

What keeps you making music?

I’ve always viewed music as this beautiful universal language that we all speak. I believe that it connects us all and has the ability to uplift and empower us – and that’s why I love to create it. I truly hope that my music connects to and empowers listeners the way that I’ve connected with music from my favourite artists.
