Veronica Everheart’s new EP is a confluence of growth

Digital-era songwriter Veronica Everheart has unveiled her long-awaited sophomore EP. Recorded at Red Convertible Recording in Brooklyn with her collaborator Junius Karr, this release marks Veronica’s first release since 2022 and serves as the beginning of a new creative chapter in her professional career.

Veronica has been steadily building momentum this year with a series of singles and music videos – each reflecting her introspective songwriting and unique vocal style – with her latest release “Lighter in the Morning (1/2)” exploring Veronica’s psyche, with her songs acting as a collage of inner thoughts mixed into digital noises. Her sound draws inspiration from a range of influences, combining emotional depth with the electronic edge.

The EP was first introduced with the release of her single “Microcosm“, a track that descends into madness, accompanied by a visually striking two-frame music video featuring Veronica in both her home and the desert. The follow-up singles “Lyn” and “Let Me Go, For It Is Daybreak” continued to showcase the dynamic partnership between Veronica and Junius, as they infuse intricate layers of sonic experimentation with a sense of levity.

This EP release highlights Veronica’s evolution as a songwriter and sets the stage for what’s to come. As the title suggests, this EP is just the first part of a larger project, with Veronica currently working on the second installment to complete the “Lighter in the Morning” universe. Reflecting on the creative process, Veronica describes the project as a “confluence” of personal growth, artistic vision, and collaborative chemistry with Karr. Their dedication to creating something beautiful is evident in every track. “The recording of this project was a confluence,” Veronica emphasises. “A confluence of my growth as a songwriter and woman, Junius’ and I’s respective tastes as artists and our dedication to making something beautiful.”

“Lighter in the Morning (1/2)” is the perfect showcase of Veronica Everheart’s distinctive mix of grungy instrumentals, sticky melodies, and vocal glitches; where this EP has made her a standout in the post-alternative genre, resonating with audiences both locally and beyond.
