Hello, it is Steve. I just wanted to take this time to get a little bit personal with you… as I have to be honest with you, this is the first “real” post in months. I used a lot of ChatGPT/other AI LLM models in 2025 to write content and aid in producing content… and I am not proud of it.
Eat This Music was always meant to be about authenticity and I feel like in 2025 I insulted you and wasted your time. However, just like a lot of people – which I know isn’t a good excuse – I got lazy and sucked into the AI void because it saved a lot of time and made writing more efficient. However, I have came to realise that what I was producing in 2025 was not always in my own voice. I also do not think that it is fair to the artists and their representatives who have sent me music in 2025. In saying that, though, not all of the content on Eat This Music in 2025 was written by AI, as most of the time it was used to rewrite media releases that were too wordy for simplicity.
The ironic thing is, though, I actually produced the least amount of content on Eat This Music in 2025 than any other year. Which, in hindsight made LLM for me counter-productive.
Going forward, I will not use ChatGPT or any other programs to make things easier, more efficient, or to save time all of the time. I am not going to lie to you and say that I won’t be using AI it at all, because that is a lie in itself. However, I feel that in the long run, it [using AI] doesn’t look good for me or Eat This Music, and it doesn’t make me feel good; in fact, it makes me feel soulless at times: spitting out content-after-content of the same words, phrases, and sentences; which is what happened in 2025. Especially, if you visit any other website other than Eat This Music and all of the content looks, feels, and sounds the same.
Sorry to take the limelight away from Artemis and his new song and use this post as a soapbox, but I really needed to get all of the above off my chest. I am glad I did it, though, and I hope you can forgive me… However, in closing, all I wanted to do with this post was to share with you this brand new song by British artist Artemas. I can’t admit to knowing a lot about him, but I really did enjoy his new single “time alone w u.”
Artemas’ latest release follows two previous singles, which were released in late November (“before we say goodbye” and “you and i could never be friends“). Artemas’ music is a blend of cold-brooding instrumentals, deep and meaning full alternative/pop-inspired lyrics and slow burning stories. As briefly mentioned above, I am not too familiar with Artemas. However, he is an artist I am going to keep track of in 2026 (e.g. click “follow” on Spotify).
Before you go, I am also currently working on my Spotify Wrapped/favourite songs of 2025 programming and post at the moment, which should be up later this weekend or before the new year kicks on. The list might actually surprise you, as compared to two years ago, I didn’t listen to a whole lot of new music in 2024 or 2025; hence why there was no addition in 2024.
