New Haven’s rebellious trio, The Problem With Kids Today, is turning up the volume and making waves in the rock scene. Comprising the dynamic frontman “The Great” Tate Brooks, bass virtuoso Silas “The Slayer” Lourenco Lang, and the rhythm powerhouse “Rock N Roll” Reena Yu, this band formed in 2020 and is here to remind us why we fell in love with rock and roll in the first place.
Their latest single, “What Else Could I Say,” is a pop-punk anthem that hits you like a shot of adrenaline. Released with a visually captivating music video directed by Connor Rog, the track is a taste of what’s to come from their eagerly awaited debut album, due out for release in the first week of February 2024.
“‘What Else Could I Say’ is an indie punk anthem, written out of frustration both metaphorically and literally,” Tate says about the song. “It broke us out of a writer’s block and set the bar for the rest of the album.”
The band’s rock and roll delinquency is on full display in this anthem. Tate leads with fiery vocals and guitar, Silas’ buttery bass adds depth, and Reena brings the beats that hold it all together. Their synergy is undeniable, and it’s reflected in the sheer energy that “What Else Could I Say” exudes.
