Colletto Bianco’s “Last Rites” is a display of sonic artistry, doubling as a haunting addition to a captivating arsenal of songs. The track serves as a portal into the enigmatic realm of the artist’s psyche, diving into an unsettling world.
Deep down, “Last Rites” is not only a love song steeped in reminiscence, but is also a heartfelt tribute to a departed lover, interwoven with the narrative threads of a dramatic character project.
Colletto’s vocals are sultry, etching at an emotional core of production. In fact, this song is actually a collaborative with co-writer and producer Elliott Gallart, who has added a layer of rich textures that form a mirrored complexity of emotions.
The music video for the song – which is above – is an animation crafted in collaboration with Chris Yee and Emily Arthur, bringing to the table a visual manifestation that casts an enthralling spell, visually showing off a narrative that is dark, brooding, and showcases Colletto’s story.
“Last Rites” is a pivotal chapter within the music sage of Colletto Bianco, and cements the artist’s growing expertise for infusing soul-pop with emotional depth. To celebrate the release of the single, Colletto Bianco took part in the latest series of “What I’ve Been Listening To” on Eat This Music.

Who is Colletto Bianco and how did your namesake come about?
Colletto Bianco (translating roughly to ‘White Collar’).
Named when I first started demoing for the project, I wanted something that would connect the project to my Italian heritage, but could also (ironically) link to where I was currently at with my life (juggling work in the corporate world with being a creative).
Which artists or bands are on your must-listen to list lately and why?
Tears for Fears, Kylie Minogue and Nujabes are some of the inspirations behind Colletto (a mix of pop and lo-fi beats) as they always seem to evoke ideas in my own writing, that start out as very simple but evolve in to massive hooks.
When you go into the recording studio to work on new material, what are your must-haves?
Not necessarily a must-have but my greatest joy is heading in to the studio with my greyhound called Alphonse. He just snoozes all day, and tolerates attention between takes.
Which song, or songs, of yours would you recommend to a first-time listener and why?
Listen to LAST RITES, it’s a new direction/sound for Colletto Bianco and I think a good entry point in to the project for a new listener.
Which song of someone else’s (artist or band) would you have liked to feature on and why?
Any Tears for Fears song ever would be the biggest dream – I think they are the closest example of perfect song writing.
What has led you into becoming a musician(s) and why do you keep making music?
I thrived in the hardcore scene and learnt as a teenager that we all have an important voice, and that there is nothing wrong with having a go at it. The bands, and culture surrounding hardcore have inspired me to never stop creating
