Amsterdam-based pop artist Pip Blom has released a new single entitled “Tiger“, from their upcoming third album, the track showcases the band’s signature vivacious pop sensibilities while also experimenting with a new sound that hints at what’s to come on the album. “Tiger” is a departure from the band’s traditional instrumentals, incorporating synths and computer production.
The use of synths and computer production on “Tiger” adds a layer of complexity to the band’s sound, enhancing their already dynamic and textured instrumentals. The result is an alternative pop sound that feels fresh and exciting, showcasing Pip Blom’s willingness to push boundaries and experiment with the new sonic territory.
Pip Blom’s lead vocalist, Pip, describes “Tiger” as her favourite track on the upcoming album – despite the departure in sound, the song retains Pip Blom’s distinct style – featuring the artist’s signature vocals and melodic sensibilities. Pip also noted that the track is an “earworm,” showcasing the band’s ability to craft catchy and memorable pop songs.
“It’s my favorite song off the album, and quite different to what we’ve done before,” Pip says about the new song. “I don’t want to sound arrogant, and I find these things difficult to say about my own tracks, but it’s quite an earworm!”
“Tiger” is an excellent preview of what’s to come from Pip Blom’s forthcoming album in the way the track showcases the band’s evolution as artists, while still retaining the elements that have made them a beloved figure in the pop music scene. Fans of the band and newcomers alike will appreciate the colourful and adventurous sound of “Tiger”.
