Fedde Le Grand – Let The Groove Be
Electronic aficionado Fedde Le Grand has made his new jam-packed sonic masterpiece, ‘Let The Groove Be’. This new song serves as the latest offering from the renowned DJ and producer and also offers a further glimpse into why fans have been hooked by his ever-growing thriving discography.
For Life – I Want You
For Life’s ‘I Want You’ is a hypnotising electronic single that wants the listener to experience a lo-fi, neon-laden environment full of palatable spoken vocals and automated bass patterns. Some of the highlights – and many are there – include its darkened saturated elements of synthesisers and guitar chords hovering over thumping drum machines.
“The track ‘I Want You’ is a combination of these two things. A song that has the energy for a late-night dancefloor but still has the melodies, chord progressions and instruments that could be in a more pop type of track.”, the Sydney-based artist reveals about his new song. “This is the combo that I love. I enjoy writing melodies and chords; I enjoy sampling vocals AND I love high-energy dancefloor tracks that people want to dance to!”
Ryan Oakes x Magnolia Park – White Flag
Alternative hip-hop artist Ryan Oakes has teamed up with Magnolia Park for their single “WHITE FLAG”, an enticing trap rap-meets-punk anthem that creates a unique blending of worlds from the respective artists.
“I believe this song is incredibly unique and that nothings really been made like it yet,” Ryan says about the new single. “I tapped Magnolia Park to jump on the second verse and get out of their comfort zone a bit with the rapping and they absolutely nailed it.”
“Ryan asked us to hop on this track with him and we loved the sound,” adds Magnolia Park. “We loved working with him on it and can’t wait to see what he has coming next.”
Circle The Earth – Too Many Pieces
Female-fronted, multicultural rock band Circle The Earth’s newest single is a nice, fitted gift to fans that showcases some of the best aspects of their project: beautiful chords, vocals, and overall presentation.
The Kut – Fun When You’re Winning
I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t still upset about Australia crashing out of the World Cup in the Knockout Stage to Argentina – I guess it was kind of expected, as the Socceroos were going up against Messi after all – however, The Kut’s World Cup anthem, ‘Fun When You’re Winning’ is sort of making it feel a little less upsetting.
Bestfriend – LEMON LIME
Bestfriend is the Canadian alt-pop duo of Stacy (lead vocals/guitar) and Kaelan (synthesizers/vocals), and they’ve managed to make music from thousands of miles apart; Stacy in Vancouver, Kaelan in Toronto. Together, they’ve created this beautiful new song that offers a glimpse into their delightful raw array of sonic textures and lyrics relating to nostalgia, adulthood, and the constant battle of getting your shit together.
“‘LEMON LIME’ is about struggling in a world that feels like it wasn’t built for you and not being able to do anything about it, while constantly being told that everything is fine,” the duo reveal about their newest single. “It’s a song for people who are tired of how things are while being too tired to change it—but everyone says it’s fine, so just go do your silly little tasks every day!”
Little Fuss – I Want a Secret
Olive, the band’s frontperson, says the song is about “the outsider looking in, and more so, the girl searching for confidence and intrigue within her own personality…In the chorus, she daydreams that she herself possesses this effortless nature, almost like someone manifesting themselves a secret, just to give them a boost of confidence.”
Ward Thomas – Music In The Madness
‘Music In The Madness’ is a euphoric call to Arms and sees the duo seek solace in hope and is a powerful reminder of how wonderful the world can be.
“‘Music In The Madness’ is our way of making sense of the world as it is,” the Hampshire-based reveal about their new single. “The world is [ever-changing] and things seem to happen at [an] increasing speed that can quickly become overwhelming. We are often surrounded by negative news or sad stories; but when you take a step back, you’re able to see all the love and joy that also exists.”
Jenny Palacios – Clean Break
Jenny Palacios is a Toronto-based singer/songwriter and producer, who nicely blends alternative pop, and elements of emo to nestle to offer listeners a glimpse into her world of melancholia and nostalgic emotion.
Jenny’s newest single “Clean Break” is the sequel to a song that Palacios released earlier in 2021 titled “Convenient“, in which “Clean Break” came out of the uncharted territories of the aftermath of leaving memories behind.
“I wrote this song right after a FaceTime call where at the end of it, I just had this sinking feeling in my gut,” Jenny says about the inspiration for her newest song. “I was still hoping that they’d change their mind on a Wednesday night, months after we’d called things off.”
