Los Angeles-based pop artist Olivia O’Brien has returned with a song that not only offers an assortment of tongue-in-cheek dialogue but also a lot of nuances to fake friends and untrustworthy people.
Whilst incorporating clear upbeat drive, the visuals for this song showcases Olivia paying tribute to pop aesthetics from the 2000s, in the way she showcases a bright landscape throughout over-the-top of her playful lyrical prowess – albeit frequently highlighting highways – Olivia’s “Bitches These Days” is a song that touches on untrustworthy friends.
“The production and the melodies are inspired by 2000s pop, which was super fun to make since that kind of music raised me,” Olivia says about the creation of the video. “I also love working with Tia, Maya, Ryan, and Jussi who I wrote the song with.”
Olivia and her team continue to put together solid visual portrayals of her music. After watching “Sociopath,” it’s good to see the creative ideas haven’t run out.
