Three songs are more than enough for you to get to know who J. Worra is as an artist. With this three-track EP, J. Worra showcases her solid mix of bouncy, dancefloor-esque anthems in a body of work that offers a delicious, satisfying taste of the world of the LA-based DJ and producer.
The EP opens features the title track ‘some ppl fall’, a song built around claps and disco-sounding organ stabs while offering a glimpse into J. Worra’s vocal samples. Following the opening song, is ‘Chunk Funk’, an infectious funk-filled song full of bassline and features the essence of house styles. The third and final track on the EP, ‘YOU‘, features the only collaborator on the EP, Cat Connors. Cat is front and center of this fellow house influence anthem, featuring a soulful vocal range courtesy of Cat.
Speaking on the aforementioned single, J. Worra reveals that the idea for it came on by some reverse engineering, “I re-purposed the drums from a remix I did over the summer (pro tip always save your drums),” she explains, “then found a vocal and chopped that up into a melody. The melody became the inspiration for Cat’s vocal which she absolutely crushed. Excited to round out the EP with this stomper!”
Great stuff all-around!
