Sahara Beck always seems to put a whole lot of effort into the creative aspects of her singles, visually and audibly. Her newest single ‘Crave Me’ is no different.
Visually, this song is intoxicating right from the beginning, and the added bonus of a karaoke element to the song adds enjoyable connectivity that should have the listener singing along to in some capacity. To be fair though, I enjoyed singing a long to this song since first coming across the audible version, so knowing what the actual words are – and not butchering it – is a nice addition.
“When we made this video we were in the early days of navigating covid lockdowns in 2020 and I just really wanted people to watch it and feel like they weren’t stuck at home and be able to sing along and have fun with it”, Sahara says. “My housemate suggested we do a karaoke video, and the idea was born”.
This song means different things to Sahara. On one hand, she is singing it about everyone she has ever given her everything to… On the other hand, she is singing it to the music industry, her biggest desire. “The only thing I’ve ever been sure of is that I love music,” Sahara continues, “I love how it makes me feel and I love that what I create can make others feel something, whether it be sadness, hope or love.”
