This Boy Electric – See What I See (feat. Nova Nardi)
When I heard this song for the first time, I couldn’t help but be encapsulated by the showgaze/electronic vibe. The added bonus of This Boy Electric’s soothing opening vocals are nicely done and offer an insight into the story as a whole. This Boy Electric’s “See What I See” was written during a really tough breakup. She was pretty lost in grief, but during the periods of writing this song she had a bit of reprieve, able to forget everything and get lost in the process.
Half Moon Run – How Come My Body
One of the smoothest songs out today. It’s digital acoustics at its best.
Lucia & The Best Boys – Forever Forget
Lucia & The Best Boys are a highly underrated band. Although, I am only going off the notion of that after hearing their song ‘Perfectly Untrue‘ for the first time in September 2020.
BEYRIES – To Love Somebody
If there was ever a song that was a great example of what someone’s vocals could achieve, this would be it. BEYRIES‘ voice is just beautiful.
Hayden Everett – Resolve
Just as I said above, this one from Hayden Everett is a good example too… This guy has incredible vocals that he uses to tell the story of his own frustration with apathy and lack of wonder.
Mike Clerk – The Air In Here
This song comes off the release of Mike’s debut solo album, which actually features my favourite song of his ‘Thoughts of Fools‘. Not to take anything away from this new song though, because ‘The Air in Here’ is a great isolation song, and the story hits close to home for many people.
LOSERS – Lost In Translation
Karate, Guns & Tanning – Breaking Teeth
Another heavy-handed taste of what is to come off their debut album, due out for release March 26. Absolutely love Karate, Guns & Tanning’s work and cannot wait for more.
Velvet Sunset – Blue
When first listening to Velvet Sunset, you wouldn’t think they are a French band, well they are, and a pretty good one at that. Velvet Sunset’s newest single ‘Blue’ sees the duo of Eleonore & Max showcase some of the freshest DIY/gritty alternative rock. Enjoy.
Acid Dad – BBQ
Getting some MAJOR less-distorted Psychedelic Porn Crumpets vibes from Acid Dad with this new song.
