Coming off the release of her debut album, due out for release May 24, Sweden pop artist ISA has returned with the first of five new tastes of her album with ‘Bye Bye’, a song that is essentially a “”fuck you” to a relationship that holds you back”, explains ISA.
Going into detail about the single, ISA explains how the topic of relationships “is something I think many, including myself, may feel impossible.”
“Bye Bye is a confident text about caring for yourself in the first place and leaving something destructive behind. Even in the relationship with oneself, it’s important to dare to turn your back on brain ghosts and self-hatred. Being an ego is sometimes a must.”
Following on from the releases of ‘Craving‘, ‘Own You‘ and ‘Perfect‘ throughout 2018, ISA’s style of pop continues to showcase a great story about feeling “empowered by leaving a person treating you badly,” explains ISA.
Going into detail about the single, ISA explained to Eat This Music how she wanted Bye Bye to come off as “uplifting and confident” explaining how “leaving someone can sometimes be relieving, and I wanted to embody that.”
“When you get into the studio and when you write you always end up with a song that you never predicted you would have written. That’s what’s so cool about music!”
2019 looks to be a big year for ISA as she will be “touring this summer on different festivals and clubs in” her own national of “Sweden”; and many more things ISA cannot reveal right now.
Stay tuned for more soon!
