Kaitlyn Mann is a pop artist out of New York and recently Kaitlyn released her first single of 2018 titled ‘Get Down‘, a song that is all about “knowing who you are, letting go, and being in the moment,” explains Kaitlyn.

“I wanted a sexy, empowering song that makes you feel like you are enough. Everyone can get down and feel confident. It’s all about having a good time and feeling good.”

Having had the opportunity to have a chat with Kaitlyn about the new single, Kaitlyn explained how Get Down come to be, Kaitlyn “started writing “Get Down” with just the bass line, that’s all it was, no melody or lyrics,” adding how she knew where she “wanted the song” to go, with a “lot of swag and attitude.”

Taking a DIY approach to the creation of the single, Kaitlyn expanded on the aesthetics of the single, where the “main hook, the vocal sampled riff, came last!” adding how she “programmed the drums, synths, and everything else myself. I also recorded all of the vocals at home.”

“I really wanted to put out a song that makes you want to move.”

2018 looks to be a big year for Kaitlyn, as she has “two new songs that” she is “currently working on called “Irresistible” and “Money” which will be mixed by Grammy Award winning mixer, Mario J. McNulty,” whom Kaitlyn worked previously worked with on her Make Me Crave album.

Kaitlyn is also “working on the music video for “Get Down” which will be shot in New York City,” her “home town.” On the creation of the music video for Get Down, Kaitlyn expresses how “”Get Down” has a lot of energy and attitude and I really want to capture that in the music video,” which will include “lots of neon lights and dancing.”

With a spring and summer tour schedule, kicking off March 23 at the Bandshell in Central Park, 2018 is looking to be a busy year for the New York-based pop upstart – stay tuned!
